You can return online Afterpay purchases in-store for both an exchange and a refund.
Your online refund will go back to your original Afterpay purchase, refunding any already made payments and cancelling any future payments.
How to process a refund instore.
While the team process the transactions on the till, please do the following to be ready to Paywave your Afterpay Card.
- Launch the Afterpay app and select the 'Orders' icon
- Select the order you wish to return and swipe right on payments to view the order details
- Select 'Return Order'
- Select 'Returning In-Store'
- Tap the Apple Pay/Google Pay button
Once the team member lets you know they are ready simply hold your phone near the Paywave reader and wait for confirmation that this has been refunded successfully.
IMPORTANT:
Ensure you have the Afterpay Card open on-screen before processing the refund.
Failure to open the Afterpay card will result in the refund going to the incorrect credit card.
You will continue to owe any remaining payments to the Afterpay order, and these payments will continue to be paid automatically on the same schedule that you originally agreed on.
Unfortunately, if this happens there is nothing we or Afterpay can do to reverse or fix this situation.
You will still receive a full refund, and at the end of your scheduled payments, all amounts will balance.
REFUND TIMING
If applicable Afterpay will then refund you: please note that this can take up to 10 buisness days for the refund to be reflected in your Afterpay account. Any remaining payments you may have will be cancelled.
Please keep your receipt from the team as confirmation of your return.
